Learn More About Our Teachers
We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of academic and non-academic staff who always go above and beyond for their pupils and school. They are learner-focused and they thrive on creativity, always looking for ways to improve their approach to teaching and coaching, by bringing in new technologies and other educational enhancements.
They recognise that no two learners are the same and make it their mission to find each student’s strength and nurture it to its full potential. Our educators practise kindness and caring, and are ready to give learners the one-on-one attention they need to succeed.
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Welcome to Kloof Senior Primary School (KSP). We are a small, family-orientated school which has fostered a proud tradition of placing our children’s growth and wellbeing at the forefront of their educational experience. Our overriding ethos is to ensure that our children come to school and are happy, confident in themselves and gain the necessary educational tools to excel when they move onto high school. Our small class sizes and excellent pupil to teacher ratios enable our educators to form personal relationships with each child. Every child at KSP is important to us.
KSP believes firmly in a holistic education system where our Extra-Curricular program forms an important part in your child’s development. We have an extensive Extra-Curricular program which caters to a variety of different children’s needs; from your traditional mainstream sports through to cultural activities. Every child who passes through KSP has access to multiple opportunities to enrich their learning experience.
The schools’ virtues: Respect, Integrity, Courage, Honour, and Responsibility underpin all the structures within our school and each of our children and educators strives to uphold these values in their everyday lives.
Parents are an essential part of our school and are regularly invited to school. KSP understands that without your support we will not be able to ensure that your child’s educational experience is totally successful. We form a partnership when your child joins our family, and through this close relationship we endeavour to help your child start to grow into a productive young adult who is ready for the new challenges that high school will throw at them.
We love our community, and you are very welcome to come and chat with us about our school and the possibility of joining our family. If you wish to visit our school, look out for our annual Open Day in Term 1.
GRADE 4 STAFF
Grade 4 is the first year in a new phase known as the Intermediate Phase. It is an exciting time for children as they are introduced to new learning areas such as Natural Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences and Creative Arts, which broaden their horizons. Our passionate team of teachers help to make the transition from Junior Primary to Senior Primary as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Our children love their hands-on and exciting lessons as well as the many special days in Grade four. One of the highlights is our Cultural Day, where culture and heritage are celebrated with traditional attire, delicious food and fun games. It is a day where we all feel Proudly South African. With the many cultural and sporting activities on offer, our grade fours are encouraged to develop their numerous talents.
GRADE 5 STAFF
Grade 5 is a major transition year for children, which makes teaching them a lot of fun. Our Grade 5 children have a fine-tuned sense of humor and having found their feet during Grade 4, they are now ready to conquer the Intermediate Phase.
Our highlight of the year is the annual Egypt Day where teachers and children get to dress up and experience Egyptian food and a day of fun-filled activities. This is a year where they understand what it means to be independent and who they want to be.
GRADE 6 STAFF
Grade 6 is a very challenging and intense, yet extremely rewarding, year for most children. It is a year in which they grow a great deal, both emotionally and socially, and start to develop a sense of self and purpose.
Being the final year of the Intermediate Phase of a child’s education, the Grade 6 academic program endeavors to nurture the children’s independence and self-confidence, in order for them to be fully prepared for the start of their Senior Phase education.
One of the highlights of the Grade 6 year is our much-enjoyed Afrikaans Dag. On this day we celebrate all things Afrikaans: boeresport, boeremusiek, braai, koeksusters and melktert. This fun-filled day encourages our children to embrace different cultures and alternative views, assisting them in celebrating the diversity of our country.
The Grade 6 teaching team has been carefully selected to ensure that our children have a successful and exciting Grade 6 year. A great deal of experience, coupled with youth and innovation, provide a well-balanced and solid foundation.
GRADE 7 STAFF
Grade 7 is one of the most memorable school years. We aim to make the year a positive, developmental and captivating one. The Grade 7 team strive to help every child achieve their potential.
The Grade 7’s are subject taught and so experience having different teachers for the various subjects. They participate in a variety of events that challenge and expand their thinking, develop their leadership and help them build characteristics to hold them in good stead through life.
We enjoy learning through a variety of interesting projects, such as creating characters or injuries with graphic stage make-up, examining and making electromagnets, developing a script with short movie clip or steaming ahead with a STREAM project, along with developing their entrepreneurial minds through business plans and goods that go to market which the whole school can buy and enjoy.
They lead the way as monitors and servant leaders, and manage the school recycling and tuckshop. We continue to expand their leadership with school house captains, sports captains as well as overnight leadership camps and day trips which help create friendships and memories they will carry with them forever.

These wonderful ladies assist our parents, learners and teachers deal with the queries, finance, and admissions. They even evolve into nurses as they put bandages on bleeding knees and give a lot of love in a very practical way.
COUNSELLERS
We are blessed at KSP to have two wonderful counsellors who are able to help our incredible learners and their families. It has become essential to have them as part of our team.
ACADEMIC INTERN – DAYNA MOODLEY
I am an energetic and bubbly individual who has chosen to follow a career in education due to my passion and love for people. I have qualified with a Chemical Engineering degree, and I have obtained my TEFL Certificate. I am currently pursuing my PGCE in the Senior and FET phases majoring in Mathematics and Physical Science.
I believe that the journey is just as important as the destination. I therefore focus on creating engaging lessons, relevant to my students’ real lives and that encourage active discovery so that they can unlock their true potential. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and learning with my KSP family.
SPECIALIST EDUCATORS
We are fortunate at Kloof Senior Primary to have so many specialist educators. This allows our pupils to be taught by experts in their field. Our Specialist subjects are Physical Education, Afrikaans, IsiZulu, Creative Arts and Computers.
